Meet our Israel Fellow – Maya Glick Elya.
Maya was born in Israel and at the age of seven moved with her family to Seattle, WA. After six years she moved back to Ness Zionna, a small city in central Israel. Maya did her Bachelors degree in Government Diplomacy and Strategics at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), majoring in Public Diplomacy. She also has a Diploma in European Studies. During these years Maya worked in Israel Experts, one of Birthright’s trip providers and as a kindergarten teacher. In the IDF Maya served in the Foreign Affairs Unit of the Intelligence Corps. Maya loves to work with children; she was a counselor in a local youth group, worked in Camp Kimama and volunteered in a special needs program. Maya came on this Shlichut with her husband Noam, and together they are very passionate about connecting students to Israel. Maya’s hobbies include photography, drawing and traveling.
